Architecture and the Abstract Vision

To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.

~Elliott Erwitt

Much of my architectural photography focuses on lines, patterns, shadows and light. What excites me are the finer details, the softer edges, and hidden abstract nuances. There is something organic about its form, and a flow that pulls one in to see the softer beauty of an otherwise concrete structure. I enjoy capturing architectural details, rather than the “big picture”, and create imagery that is contemplative, while transforming reality into abstraction. In doing this I hope to bring the viewer to challenge their perspective as well.
